1plpgovernment 12 years, 6 months ago on Minister outlines 'bleak state of prison'

Ok, let me get this right, AG Allyson Maynard wants to implement swift justice and put away these criminals fast, DPM Brave Davis and the cool PM-PC wants to repeal some of the crime laws, and now Minisiter of national security Bain town boy wants to have a greater outflow of criminals from the prison because he feels disheartened in the conditions they are living in. OK OK OK OK , it all makes sense now. These people are in jail for -Robbing people at gun and knife point -Raping women, children ( and lately boy children) -Murdering people because of stupidity and jealousy -Selling drugs and guns and all these other things causing these problems and a bunch of other dumb %&#@

These are Bahamians too, who although disrespect the law, the land and people, we Believe that we must have compassion and let us law abiding citizens live in fear.

Got it. PLP All they way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Dr. Nottage seems more concerned about those criminals in prison than serenity on the streets of New Providence. When he and the other MP's go to their luxury homes, there are some of us who live in these areas where gunshots can be heard at all hours of the night. Young men through every corner selling and smoking drugs. These men don't want to work and are more comfortable committing crimes. I live in a real world but Dr. Nottage obviously doesn't. It's better for them to live like sardines than for decent people to suffer from their criminal acts.

I understand that it was 3 banks...Stella Maris, CIBC Mall, and Scotia Wulff and Jerome. If Scotia is true, I think the guy who escaped on foot and got on the bus from CIBC walked straight into Scotia and did the same thing, then the cops nabbed him on the bus at Wulff and Marathon. Crazy. At least he did not appear to be armed and no one was hurt in the process...except maybe him after the police get through with him.

To say the money is gone is not an accusation and it should not be difficult to find out where the funds were used - Bell says 'I have the document as to how the funds were used,' unless it was used to pay someones mortgage then please explain the scandal? I am more interested in the relationship between the current Minister of State in the Attorney Generals office with a drug lord pending extradition and cant help but wonder about the conflicts that might arise from the PLP Chairman taking over the Airport while having a vested interest in Nassau Flight Services or the new Chairman of BEC owing millions to the Corporation - These are all stories that have been in the tribune - Where is the investigative journalism and commentary on these issues - These are easily verifiable facts - DO BETTER TRIBUNE!!

FNM fires back over slush fund claims

THE FNM hit back at State Minister of National Security Keith Bell's allegation that confiscated drug money was used as a "slush fund" under the former government - claiming the minister's comments reveal he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Desmond Bannister was excellent!! Future PM material if ever there was one!! As for lefgalizing gambling I'm ok with it as long as the criminals currently numbers ARE NOT INVOLVED IN ANYWAY! If you're gonna legitmize it then do so properly and do not allow criminals to run it!!! But this is the PLP. Wonder when Brave is going to go to court to defend himself. And you guys at the Tribune need to do your job better too! I'd like to know if my DPM can travel to the US! I'd like to know exactly what crime my DPM is accused of in court!! Time to get rid of the criminal elements in our government, we are sick of it!!

More of nothing to distract their followers from taking on the promises they stated to their voters. Bad part is most of their supporters won't hold them to a higher standard. Do they think the bags of NOTHING will replace their agenda and the promises made. Once again the classic PLP, Talking about everything other than what need to be discussed. I am sure TAL RUSSEL WILL SEE THIS REPORT AS BIG NEWS...........Get to the country's business.

Hon Minister Ryan Pinder....this is disgraceful and merely reiterates to the Bahamian people that you are about YOUR OWN AGENDA and not the Bahamian people.....they expose themselves so early ....how can you expect better later.....

Deputy PM Davis must be coaching MP Ryan Pinder in stupidity. Why is he even bringing this up in the House? Take it outside! What does this have to do with the business of running the Bahamian government? Carrying on like children in the schoolyard. "I heard.." "I saw..." Someone bring a tamarind switch for them, please. (Ryan Pinder, this is what you came back from FL for?)
