No wonder lawyers charge so much. It takes them 15 pages for something that can be summed up in a paragraph.

Keod can't be serious! Where did this man get his law degree? Disney world hey? I wanna know who this man thinks he is? Acting like he owns the area. I wanna see this man brought under control, thugs like him do not deserve to be in our government. How was this man ever an MP? We need standards in this country, too many criminals and thugs in our politics.

Govt probe into Blackbeard’s Cay
What is the real story here? Back on May 16th this extract appeared in an article in the Tribune......."Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe initially seemed to suggest the government was also wary of the project, saying Prime Minister Perry Christie has directed officials to investigate the redevelopment. But then, following a meeting with Mr Andrawos and Carnival Cruise Lines, the minister said all concerns have been “assuaged.”... Maybe he was using assuaged to mean something else. None of the reports actually states WHO is the developer. We have Samir Andrawos, operator of St Maarten Sightseeing Tours who seems to have a good relationship to Carnival and former Cabinet Minister, Charles Carter who seems to act as a spokesman for the developers group (of which he is a partner) and a few other interested persons unnamed. Surely some transparency here would help especially as we are no attracting international attention to the plan to set up a fourth dolphin prison in the Bahamas.

400 jobs may go, warns store owner
We are already trimming staff through normal attrition...not laying them off, but as they quit or get fired for whatever reason, we are not replacing them with another employee. Super Value's price increases have nothing to do with VAT...YET...so brace yourselves. Between the business license increases...which are extortionate, plus the new customs processing fee introduced last year, costs have gone up everywhere. Government says they were going to be trying to phase out business licenses in conjunction with VAT...as well as lower the duty rates...so what do they do, before VAT gets implemented, they jack the business license fees up sky high, and little by little they are increasing duty on items, so when the time comes for the VAT duty price drop, in actuality they are just going to drop to their previous levels of a few months ago...brace yourselves folks, VAT will cause the prices to soar...don't kid yourself into thinking otherwise.

HAVE YOUR SAY: BEC power cuts
I disagree with Jackbnimble. These power outages happen every summer -- I've lived here for 21 years and every summer we have the same thing. Last summer however was a bit of improvement since the outages weren't as frequent.
Firing Leslie Miller will not stop the outages. BEC needs to be blown up and start over. The reason why we are being subjected to this "terrorism" over the last 41 years is because Frankie Wilson's company is supplying the diesel to BEC. Thus the governments of the day trying to generate electricity with crappy generators.
The only way to fix this problem is to privatise BEC (and not to the Sunshine Boys!) and move to the 21st century technology -- wind, solar, ocean. The technology is there -- we only need to have some representatives in the House who actually give a crap about the people they represent to actually do the right thing.
That'll never happen... I vote for a revolt!!

you got to finally give it to Hubigitty. He saw the writing on the wall. He knew this was what the chinese wanted.
Also Harrahs saw this was going to happen.
The Chinese wanted it all from the start and only PLP could be corrupt enough to let it happen.

meanwhile Cuba is ramping up, http://gcaptain.com/spanish-ferry-compa… The Bahamas government is in bed with the Chinese and Uncle Sam will make sure that bed is hard very uncomfortable. You think Uncle Sam will just let the Chinese have The Bahamas without a fight? As I said The Bahamas of tomorrow will be the Cuba of yesterday. tighten your belts because we are in for some lean years ahead!

Dr Hubert Minnis criticised for AG resignation call
Courtesy of WIki:
A conflict of interest (COI) is a situation in which a person or organization is involved in multiple interests (financial, emotional, or otherwise), one of which could possibly corrupt the motivation of the individual or organization.
The presence of a conflict of interest is independent of the occurrence of impropriety. Therefore, a conflict of interest can be discovered and voluntarily defused before any corruption occurs. A widely used definition is: "A conflict of interest is a set of circumstances that creates a risk that professional judgement or actions regarding a primary interest will be unduly influenced by a secondary interest."[1] Primary interest refers to the principal goals of the profession or activity, such as the protection of clients, the health of patients, the integrity of research, and the duties of public office. Secondary interest includes not only financial gain but also such motives as the desire for professional advancement and the wish to do favours for family and friends, but conflict of interest rules usually focus on financial relationships because they are relatively more objective, fungible, and quantifiable. The secondary interests are not treated as wrong in themselves, but become objectionable when they are believed to have greater weight than the primary interests. The conflict in a conflict of interest exists whether or not a particular individual is actually influenced by the secondary interest. It exists if the circumstances are reasonably believed (on the basis of past experience and objective evidence) to create a risk that decisions may be unduly influenced by secondary interests.

Hey, you better step back. You are just a Bahamian taxpayer, you have no right to ask such questions. You are over stepping your bounds and need to sit small. The PM is a demi-god and needs to stay at the best hotels and have the finest there is to offer and you as the person that ultimately will be paying for these things in the form of taxes have no right to ask the above questions.

Excellent! I have a new level of respect for Pintard. His resignation is in the best interest of the party, indeed. Now the other petty politicians from that other party cannot use him as a distraction and as a deflection for their shady engagement in this whole matter. But the day any member of the PLP resigns, is the day that the KKK would welcome blacks into their organization. But whatever, the FNM would be a party again if only Minnis himself also resigns as leader.

to “save women” from themselves and to “stop foreign men from having the same rights as Bahamian men”.
So you are saying you don't need to save Bahamian men from themselves ( their are as many foreign wives, as there are foreign husbands)
You are also saying that it is ok for foreign women to have the same rights as Bahamian women rights. Which is the way you want to leave things as that is our Constitution now.
Bahamian men don't need any protection.
Why do you want to discriminate against Bahamian women because that is what you are saying and doing.
