I give a crap because they are pissing away hard earned taxpayer's money (mine included) on frivolous BS. I'm sure they are all collecting the frequent flyer miles for themselves as well. This BS just pisses me off as they try to shove VAT down our collective throats. We need the FOIA legislation passed so we can see the cost for Christie Perry's flying circus. (No offence to Monty Python)

Wow. How ridiculous to expect to get paid your salary and still collect NIB. Kinda like collecting NIB unemployment payments while you are working.

Comrades there is no such thing as being 90% honest over the way Bahamaland's tax dollars are spent. You're either 100% honest, or I have serous questions for you. While there is rightly lots of talk over the abuse of double dipping paychecks at BEC, the abuse is much broader. What about government appointees being paid out of the public treasury but also serving on other boards for payment. What about MP's who while collecting a public treasury salary are also collecting fees for serving on boards and committees? How many government appointed chairman's are collecting their public treasury and private corporation salaries? Is it OK for a chairman of any government corporation to be collecting a full salary as an MP from the public treasury, while collecting a paycheck from a government or private corporation? Should you be collecting a government pension and at the same time collecting another paycheck from the public treasury?

Stephano Greene has just threatened our infrastructure again. And he apparently expects the prime minister to back him up.
Put cameras at and around all key infrastructure, have regular maintenance checks to ensure the cameras are working, monitor access to all areas.
If the electricity is off for more than two weeks, I assume the govt will handle it like a natural disaster. They can import labour and expertise from other countries to assist. I would suspect that up time would take longer as workers learned the systems but it could be done, and at the end of it we would have electricity restored and a corporation staffed with persons who really want a job. I've worked long enough to know that NOONE, no matter how smart they think they are is indispensable. If you are seen as a liability to the company, they remove you, even in face of no immediate replacement or a less knowledgeable replacement.
I would hope that terror suspects are never again hired at another govt corporation. They would know better than to damage equipment at a private business.

It's not the first time our dear Mr. Greene has threatened both violence and crime...and we wonder why the country is going to the dumps...the police and other union officials are too afraid to touch him or shut him up. I would have him tailed and followed 24/7, since he is SOOOO very quick to push crime. My bet is, he is either a past criminal...or maybe even one still in action...not include the union crimes of course.

I wouldn't trust any interpretation Stephano Greene provides. He has proven to date that he either does not know the law or he cannot comprehend what is written
I don't know any company that guarantees a bonus. It doesn't make sense.

if only we had people to enforce the traffic laws... No one pays attention until someone is dead, sad in this case and if the driver is caught he should be charged with murder, but whats the point if he'll be out on bail and walking the sstreets for 3 years until his case comes around

I hope they don't sleep and they could hear that baby crying every time they close their eyes... Our people too like to speed. I always tell my child to be careful in the parking lot where I live because the drivers speed through there like they are at NASCAr and if someone hit my child, I'm going to have to go all HULK on themmmmm ..

I am going to apply for a job at BEC and join the union. They have it madeeee. I don't even want to go out in the field. I only want to answer the phone or somethin'. After the first year, I'm gonna be sick for a month and I want my salary and my NIB contributions because I want to take my whole family to Paris when I'm well again. This is the lifeeee....lolol

The Government should sell BEC and ship all the equipment including generators, transformers, switches, computers and the whole lot to another country (like Dominica or Honduras or somewhere) - I mean physically ship them out.
Then give ALL the money proceeds from the sale to be equally divided among ALL the BEC workers.
Then it will all be over with. They will have gotten everything that is gottable (new word) - and they along with the rest of us can start burning lamp - and then figure out some other way that we can be even more stupid in the future.
The airports and hotels can run on generator - if not, they can just close.

DAVIS: Talks being held over BEC bonus
Exactly what is the DPM trying to do to Leslie Miller? The memo from Mr Miller stated that the issue of bonus deferment had been decided in conjunction with Mr Davis, is that true or not? These lily livered politicians are tiring. May be wise to chose now which master you want to serve, Stephano Greene and a bunch of greedy BEC workers or the majority vote of the electorate.

Decision due on threat charge
... from what I understand his face will be shot completely with an AK47 to send a clear and present message. Notice the use of the phrase "from what I understand". Doesn't that suggests that Mr. Archer is relaying something that he may have overheard. Don't get me wrong, to threaten a persons life should be taken seriously, but in my opinion Mr. Archer is not the one sending the threat. He is simply doing the same thing the Tribune did by writing an article duplicating what was heard or read from some source-or-the-other. I personally read the post and technically the name posted included additional middle names which would make a reader assume Mr. Archer was referring to a particular individual, however by the full name he posted, it was not whom the newspaper article assumed, because the whole Bahamaland is certain that the name posted is not the individuals name that would appear on any document (birth certificate/passport).
