If the customs duty was reduced to 15% or 20% Bahamians would not need to be trying to buy stolen vehicles because cars would then be affordable for all

Excellent and congratulations. A bright light among the dismal business atmosphere in the Bahamas.

If a company does not want you to work for them, they have the right to terminate you and pay you what is owed to you. As an employee, you do not own or have any shares in the company and the union is there to ensure that you are treated fairly and have good working conditions. If you chose to act the fool and demand of the company rights that you are not entitled to and the company fires your behind, as long as you get your pay then its goodbye and thanks for the memories.

When are you going to realize your ignorance. For every 1 caught another 3 gets away. The water is a vast ocean, and the geographical location/arrangement of our islands makes it very hard to catch these runners. You simply cannot be everywhere at once.

Maybe what they need to do is wait until all the cruise ships clear out...aim their guns at Parliament square and blow a crater in the middle of town and repossess the island on behalf of the British Empire...LOL

This story is foolishness, a plane leaving the country going in to the U.S and the search is being done by a Bahamian agency.

Im sorry Fred. Even though you are a Foreign Affairs Minister, your words or advice is not going to be acknowledged. The U.S doesn't have a horse in the race, so why was this statement made again? You cannot even acknowledge the answers from your own people, yet who are you to offer advice on how the Ukraine is dealing with their problems? We've got our own problems, and we are still awaiting for a response, yet your colleagues in your department do this??

jlcandu 10 years, 5 months ago on Lady Pindling's tax bill paid in full

Tal,

Nobody is denying this woman to collect her husband's pension as his widow. The problem is that she is being paid from the Treasury and like most other prominent PLP's, she doesn't pay her taxes. And, now she is being considered for a Governor-General position, an office that requires someone who is actually deserving of the post and has some semblance of integrity.

Mrs. Pindling lost her integrity by not paying the taxes for her multi-million dollar residence. With the salary that she is getting, she should have been able to at least pay something in 14 years!!!

Stop trying to make this an FNM issue -- it is a tax-cheating, tax-dodger issue and ALL MP's who haven't paid their taxes should be named and shamed in the newspaper. WE the public are paying for their salary and THEY want to shove more taxes down our throats. They need to be accountable to the people -- if they can't handle it, they shouldn't be in public office!!!

Boy Rollins, I guess it's just a matter of time. I applaud you, though, for standing up but I'm now listening for the fallout as for sure you will be gone after this. The good part is that you would be an excellent asset to the Opposition. They can use your fire.

It is about time someone told it like it is. There is nothing to be proud of if you are a member of the government, it is a FAILURE, those with sense would hang their heads in shame! The people of the Bahamas have no faith in these set. Where there is smoke there is fire and boy let me tell you there is plenty smoke around the PLP, as there always is with these incompetents. The last time I heard the word corrupt so much on the street was in the late 80's early 90's. That says it all right there!

Where is the idiotic, PLP sympathizer who calls himself generalcrazy???

I seem to recall him being adamantly vocal during the Darron Cash fiasco! In matters pertaining to the FNM he spared the Bahamas no opinionated foolery predicated upon stupidity. But now that the PLP has begun the disintegrating process that will undoubtedly result in their defeat in three years; he seems to have gone mute! I guess BEC has his light and internet off.

You may have tried to pass yourself off as a nonpartisan observer "generalcrazy".... but your bias and the truth is obvious!! You're just another spineless, shifty, illiterate, uncultured, primitive, trifling uncultivated PLP fool!!

I guess most of the PLP MP's will be in Grand Bahama this weekend. I hope that reporters are there to get pictures of the PM and Fred in their thongs, recruiting more party members.

"If you, the people do not like how we are sinking this country then go support others who actually care about the Bahamas and it's people".

Well Fred, 2017 will certainly be game over for the PLP and anyone else who does not do their jobs properly from any party. You reap what you sow.
