Why is this spat being protracted longer than it has to be? Too many games being played in this country. Pastor Munroe should take a step back from it all. It is as if he is attempting to keep pressing the issue more than it has to be. Honestman is totally correct in saying that non one payed Fred any mind when he made the comments. Interestingly, I've noticed that Ranford Patterson the President of the Christian Council made one of the silliest comments I've heard from a pastor. He said something to the effect that he would not vote for a gay candidate. He should ask himself,'What would Jesus do?'

In saying this I've not heard one pastor object to such nonsense. It is a hateful tone that he and many others in country use when they speak of gays. Whether a person is gay, straight, black, white, yellow should not be an issue. We are all God's children and we answer to him not to these jumped up pastors who divide rather than guide God's people.

The idea of BEGINNING to drill for oil in this day and age, when every major economy in the world is trying to move BEYOND fossil fuels, is pretty unbelievable.

Alaska's shorelines, wildlife, and residents are still seeing and feeling the effects of an oil spill that took place 25 years ago.

For the Bahamas to risk so much, for the sake of a finite supply of a product that is being phased out all around the world, is BEYOND stupid.

I do like how he stated he paid the man "significantly less" than the foreign consultants...which is a clear indication of what is also wrong with the country. Pay the foreigners more to do a job that you are paying Bahamians less to do.

You can always skim off a foreigners contract, not so easy with a Bahamian as the truth will always out, and one will screw the other. There are many who were never taught that lesson in school! The truth will always out. In any case, he now claims in the other daily that it was the bank he was helping, not his friend, Lightbourne. Aside that, the banks cannot be seen to be bending contractual agreements, or the flood gates will be opened. There are no decision makers left in the banks locally anyway.

What's wrong with labouring in the fields and farming? It's an honest day of work and it pays a person so they can feed themselves and their family and not look for a handout from the government, or go out and rob the people who are working hard for what they have.

Bahamians always looking down on certain jobs...if it pays to clean toilets, scrape gum off someone shoes, or farm a piece of land then dang it stop looking down your nose at it. That's part of why the crime rate is so high, people feel they are to good for certain jobs but they want to rob the people who are working.

Furthermore they farm land in other parts of the world and it benefits them tremendously. Hawaii as a lock on pineapples, Dominica has bananas and mango among other produce, Florida is still orange capital- nothing is wrong with working the land. IT'S HONEST WORK!!!!

I know some very active, motivated, successful smokers. I can understand your cynicism as the propaganda against this plant has been very effective.

While it is true that many young men are receiving treatment for "drug induced psychosis" (DRUG abuse) DO YOU KNOW THAT ONE OF THE COMMON DRUGS "RISPERDONE" USED TO TREAT THESE PAITIENTS HAS MORE SIDE EFFECTS THAN DRUG ABUSE ITSELF. This drug is also used to treat children with AUTISM. IN addition to causing teen boys and young men to grow breasts and secrete milk here are other side effects caused by this drug sold under the brand name Risperdal:

Along with its needed effects, risperidone may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking risperidone: More common •Aggressive behavior •agitation •anxiety •changes in vision, including blurred vision •decreased sexual desire or performance •difficulty concentrating •difficulty speaking or swallowing •inability to move the eyes •loss of balance control •mask-like face •memory problems •menstrual changes •muscle spasms of the face, neck, and back •problems with urination or increase in the amount of urine •restlessness or need to keep moving (severe) •shuffling walk •skin rash or itching •stiffness or weakness of the arms or legs •tic-like or twitching movements •trembling and shaking of the fingers and hands •trouble sleeping •twisting body movements Less common •Back pain •chest pain •speech or vision problems •sudden weakness or numbness in the face, arms, or legs •unusual secretion of milk((and growth of breasts in young males) Rare •Confusion •dizziness •drowsiness •extreme thirst •fast, shallow breathing •fast, weak heartbeat •headache •increased thirst •lip smacking or puckering •loss of appetite •muscle cramps •pale, clammy skin •poor coordination •prolonged, painful, inappropriate erection of the penis •puffing of the cheeks •rapid or worm-like movements of the tongue •shivering •talking, feeling, and acting with excitement and activity that cannot be controlled •uncontrolled chewing movements •uncontrolled twisting movements of neck, trunk, arms, or legs •unusual bleeding or bruising •unusual facial expressions or body positions

Some side effects of risperidone may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: More common

LOL......"Genius Jackass's" in the Bahamas will debate another subject the rest of the free world have already concluded.

Why not debate space exploration and alien negotiation protocol while your at it?

Face it....The Bahamas is in L-A-S-T __ P-L-A-C-E for everything under the sun except lousy government, corruption and asinine political stupidity.

No wonder the IMF, S&P and Moody's declared Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie the worst leaders in the region!

Undeniable world class Jackass's one and all.

Medical Marijuana no longer needs to be smoked. Methods have been developed to extract oils and other beneficial ingredients from the marijuana plant and convert them into medicine, so there is no longer a need for a 'patient' to be walking around with a big joint down his throat.

Actually the bigger picture here is how lenient our magistrates are with certain foreigners, but if these were young Bahamian men caught with those drugs here, or abroad, then they would be looked up!

The jails are full of pot smokers. No room for triple murderers and armed robbers. The church will not petition the government to decriminalize marijuana, so we can have room for real criminals.

That is a choice. We can choose to put pot smokers in jail or put murderers in jail. It is simply a choice, and we live with the consequences of that choice every day (not just Sundays).

Why these jackass's don't just legalize marijuana which would allow them to get rid of hundreds of people in prison for small pot possession charges and make room for the serious crime boys out on bail like this idiot.

Not to mention the immediate boost in JOBS AND STOPOVER tourism as experienced in Colorado and Uruguay.

I read your postings a lot. it seems as if you have the country's best interest at heart. It's too bad that there aren't many other pastors and or leaders out there who are not caught up in their selfish ways of using the church as a money train. I am sick to my bones from the hypocrisy and other BS that float around in the Bahamas.

One of the big problems in our country is corruption. Every man has his price. Another thing is that many of these folks are related to or friends of politicians, police officers, judges, etc.. If not, they have friends who are friends of these people! You think about what I am saying here. We need to be talking about taking back our country from these folks and have them tried by a tribunal, then severely punished for crimes committed against the Bahamian people.

I don't use marijuana and don't really care too but it does have some medical benefits. Drugs like marinol are THC based medications controlled by prescriptions just like other drugs. Can he please explain the difference between medical marijuana (THC) based medical treatments and drugs versus the opioid based ones which are far more addictive and dangerous drugs that are used for pain among other things. Morphine, oxycodone, vicodin, codein etc which are all commonly abused by the way? If a substance can be used/dosed and controlled correctly with regulations for medical treatments it should be made available.

Alcohol & legal prescription drugs, lack of sleep, sickness all affect peoples ability to reason so his logic about marijuana being a detriment to us is nonsense. People are smoking weed regardless of its legality, lets get over that & if u look in the medicine cabinet of many its full prescription drugs they use legally to get them through their day. Threat it like alcohol legalize it, regulate it & lets move on.. On to more serious matters, Rev. Patterson what are u & others Minister going to do about a known child molester Randy Frasier starting a church? Are u going to organize protest & protect innocent children from abuse? What's the plan?
