Sorry to disagree with all of the above comments. Many scientists world-wide are touting the idea of stem cell research being the next big thing - and I am grateful that Mr. Nygard is kind enough to fund it here (even if he also has a personal interest).
He does not need to spend his money here. I'm sure there are lots of other countries around the world that would welcome him coming in and setting up laboratories for world scientists to attend and do research. Thank goodness he chose us. And if his enterprise proves fruitful then so much the better for everyone in the world.
At the same time, though, I am very happy to note how well many people are doing in the Bahamas - that they feel high enough on their "horse" to turn up their noses at this gentleman and his investment. The commenters above are chiefs among them. Bahamians must be really getting "up there". No more IMF loans for us.
