LOL I could see if I used an expletive, I guess constructive criticism for poor work is not appreciated. I suppose only favorable comments are allowed to stay. Feel free to remove this one also.

All he is saying is, well he is just running on! The Commissioner of Police should now be of an appointment outside the Police Force! That position should be the Chief of Police!

Absolutely disgraceful. Do I feel the person could have or should have been questioned, by all means, but do it a bit more tactfully, especially when in the end you did not have all the facts and made yourself, and the country for that matter look like idiots. Willing to bet the fired employee has a friend or family member in Immigration that got that swung. Sad when people have to resort to such childish behaviour.

Jackflash didn't mention tht the tourist who remain on the ship can also gamble..and if Bahamians are on the ship they can also gamble! And that is what this is also about. Bahamians are being hoodwinked and bamboozled...and he seems to be in favour of being sold out.. Elections shoulda been today!!!

So the parents are upset -- but a lawsuit? Really? Have any of the children apologized for their bad behavior that precipitated the cancelation? What about showing respect to those in authority? What kind of example are these parents setting for their children? Still scratching my head over this one.

My sentiments exactly! Where is the lesson in all of this? Respect is the word of the day! Parents you missed a golden teaching opportunity!

I think the lesson in this, is the parents need to hold their children accountable for their actions. In their adult life bad behavor will lead to more serious consequences. Parents let the kids know what they have caused you, and stop bailing them out. Their vulgar behavior will only get worse and you will be looking at your good child through bars or a glass.

Nassaudady: totally agreed... it is like they feel a sense of intitlement regardless of there conduct & the parents refuse to educate them that there are consequences for there actions. The world owes them nothing but the opportunity to be sucessful... Bad actions equal consequences stop spoiling children & lets move on its not the end of the world..

There was a time in this country when kids where scared of the consequences of getting a bad report from school... if a report of miscoduct came home my concern would be for living not graduation or prom.. Now we talking lawsuits, this is indeed a new world.

You would think that the Minister responsible for NIB would be aware that the benefits section the NIB website says the following:

If full salary is paid while an employee is on sick leave, does the employer have the right to request the Sickness Benefit cheques paid by National Insurance? Yes. The employer is empowered by law to adjust his/her employee's sick leave pay to take into account the benefit payment/s received from National Insurance. So, if a worker receives full salary while on sick leave, then the employer has a right to adjust the salary either by deducting the difference National Insurance paid, or by requesting the Sickness Benefit cheques. Does the employer have the right to find out what the employee received as Sickness Benefit? Yes. The National Insurance Act, Chapter 320 Statute Laws of The Bahamas, directs the National Insurance Board to comply with any reasonable requests made by the employer in terms of his/her employees' benefits.
