The whole Haitian deportation thing was just a diversion tactic for the bailing out of Bank of The Bahamas. It seemed to work, as it got the story of the bailout off the front cover. Bahamians just paid 100 million for nothing. How do you like them apples! This Haitian deportation is a scam, a smoke screen. Is it just a coincidence that it happened just after PM announced the BOB bail out? I think not. Think about it. Don't let the thieves get away with your money again by using innate prejudice and straw men. We aren't that stupid, are we?

Yes Emac ..................... our Christian nation should really try to do better for "the least of these". The BCC and the GBHRA are lobby groups with special interests that do not always involve those children that are at risk of sexual exploitation in dysfunctional families ........... gays and illegals are far "sexier" political talking points for lobbyists

What ACP Dean is saying is install bars on your windows and doors and don't leave your house for anything, at least until the government has figured out a more imaginative way to downplay armed holdups in broad daylight
BTW government and legal system providers. The guys with the guns have figured out that they can threaten the witnesses and walk. Got any good ideas or shall we all keep pretending things are gonna work out ?

Miller: We shouldn’t have brought in foreigners
Mr Miller,
In the US, many power companies have agreements to bring in help from other areas (better known as "foreigners") The Edison Electric Institute published a paper on the mutual aid process, and you may read it here:
http://www.eei.org/issuesandpolicy/elec…
I hope providing a link to a foreign website doesn't hurt your sensibilities.
No single utility has the capability to quickly restore power when the entire system is offline. That's why they agree to work together in times of disaster. If they all wanted the jobs to go to untrained locals, the systems would take months to come back online.
Your idea of having Bahamians do the work just for the sake of having them be Bahamian is ludicrous. The time for training those Bahamians was long ago and it would have cost you millions of dollars to not only train them, but to keep them employed while you waited for a disaster.
Your protectionism and that of others in The Bahamas explains much about what is wrong with your country.
I'm sure those that volunteered for the assignment to assist all Bahamians would rather be at home with their families rather than suffer the whining of a short-sighted fool.
Would you also refuse monetary donations and aid from the US and people like me that gave to help when asked?
Just when I think it's time to reconsider The Bahamas as a place for investment and to visit, I'm reminded why I stopped coming.

So proud of the previous comments. I'm sick to death by the homophobia and outright hatred among the Bahamian people for other people. What does it matter to anyone else what the gender of a couple marrying.
The Bahamian people become holier than thou about homosexuality yet the young girls are out screwing everyone they can, having babies to men who have no intention of raising them, but that's ok! The young men are fu**ing every girl possible and having to or three girls preggers at the same time, but that is also ok. Neither have a clue as to how to feed, cloth, house or care for the children you bring into this world.
A wonderful, loving couple well into adult age marry and you sh*t all over them because they just might be gay!!! Where is the Christianity Bahamians always spout??? Grow up folks, get your head out of the sand and join the real world!!

‘Baha Mar sale is a fabrication’
This is a good point. The chapter 11 bankruptcy, no matter how financially costly and time consuming, would have been preferable to handing over Bahamas sovereignty to the Chinese. The Chinese know more about our country (Baha Mar ownership) than we do. The only persons who should vote PLP in the oncoming election should be Chinese, for they are the only ones who have received proper representatiin from Mr. Christie. They are his citizens, his chosen people; we Bahamians have been left in the dark.

THE BIG QUESTION: Funding for hurricane relief
Shameless Shane was overheard telling Crooked Christie that the supply chain of materials needed from the U.S. for the restoration effort has been severely maxed out and disrupted as a result of the very high demand for such materials in the U.S. itself (from Vero Beach Florida to Cape Hatteras North Carolina) caused by the destruction of Hurricane Matthew. Shameless Shame complained to Crooked Christie that this supply dilemma might hold up the government's spending of money on the relief effort. Crooked Christie's only response was that the money had to somehow be spent as quickly as possible and definitely before the next general election. Shameless Shane acknowledged this could be achieved in part by significantly increasing the mobilization money paid by government to the contractors and other workers engaged/hired with his approval. Looks like Crooked Christie is anxious to ensure all of the borrowed money he lines up as Minister of Finance by increasing our already unsustainable national debt gets spent by his corrupt government, leaving nothing to be spent by the next government even though a general election must be held within the next several months. Yes folks, the mad dash is on by Crooked Christie and Shamless Shane to spend willy nillie as much as possible in lining the pockets of cronies and buying votes. The last thing on their minds is to have the additional borrowed money spent wisely or fairly with a general election looming.

John, A population difference comparison is in order. If Nassau had the population of Chicago, Nassau would have nearly 1200 murders this year. Can you do anything about Chicago? How about Nassau? Clearly, Nassau is much more deadly than the most dangerous US city. It is most honest to compare apples with apples.

Those children are Bahamians if they are born here, are the Bahamian's born in the U.S. Bahamian's or Americans? How many Bahamian's go right to Miami and have their children turn around and come back, (btw don't pay the bill) return to our Bahamas and raise their children. Later in life they then want all the rights of American's who was born and raised in the U.S. How many Bahamians in the U.S. ILLEGALLY and still hiding and running from U.S. immigration having children btw and in the same position. They might not go there by boat but over stay and end up in the same illegal status. We have a problem here but sending kids to a country they never went to is the wrong answer. Now that the U.S is changing their policy aka anchor babies just know our time is coming to be treated the same way, what will we say then.
