I wonder if the reason they will have enough money to finish is because they are not buying golf clubs, wine, and cigars? They got straight on that stuff from their last job.

No one can deny that Nassau/New Providence has its share of problems and the number of murders and serious crime is of concern to everyone. BUT one must ask if this man is being fair and/or his comments are just an attack on the Bahamas tourist product. Yes, there have been 105 murders this year but only two or three were non Bahamians. And some six million tourist come here each year and only a very small number experience a crime situation. To put the situation into context, you must compare Nassau with destinations like Disney World or Six Flags and see how many visitors to those attractions are injured or robbed or experience some other situation. Tourists are among the safest people in the country. White women are the most safest followed by white men. And exit interviews with younger tourists confirm that they come to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, "for pot and for sex." And since pot or weed has become more accepted in the US and Canada, where most tourist come from, they don't expect to get a hefty fine or jail time for, 'a lil bit of pot on da island" Neither do they not expect to find any when they come but if anyone is in the port blatantly offering drugs to tourists they should be removed and severely dealt with. For the Most part Nassau is as clean and as well kept as most Caribbean destinations, in the tourist area, even though more can be done to disguise the vacant and dilapidated buildings. The marines carrying automatic weapons at the port is more to do with potential terrorism attacks rather than personal security and if this man is a lawyer he should understand this. But many still question why local police still carry automatic weapons while making a traffic stop or at some cultural event. Even when Bahamians go to the Arawak Port to collect fright, they are subjected to US rules and regulations for the very same reason.

You can probably go to any US city and produce a similar video word for word. The problem is,.... they don't care, tourism is not their number one industry, it's ours. So while I love our big sky, crystal clear waters, pulsating sounds of Junkanoo, the dialect, the warmth of the people etc etc, I must say WE GAT PROBLEMS. And we eehn foolin' nobody pretending we don't.

Ya know what.... at a certain point Bahamian got to stop crying cus all they do is sit the hell down and talk, or if they are truely driven people, they end up leaving this island out of frustration. The pointe could be shut down over night (TRUST ME) if the People of this Island cared. Point in case, except for the few, they don't care (thats why so much of 'historic' bay street looks past-due).

I think they'll start to care then the Chinese make them undesireables here and start pushing them out. Then when time Bahamian end up on a boat off the coast of Haiti looking for a better life and Haiti turn round and kick them in the mouth they gone say 'poor us' when all along dey just sit back and expect everything to be done in their best interest while not giving a hell about anything or anybody.

We came over here as slaves to serve another cultures interest. We survived as a displaced disenfranchised people just to be fooled into thinking we're self governing and independent (who's head of state?), and now we are once again merely pawns for other cultures interests, although now they're not interested in our Human Resources as much as out geographical resources --- we are the expendable and unnessessary part of what they are interested in.

No Chinese would ever come here to help a Bahamian. Most Chinese don't even know what the Bahamas is.

ALot of people hate colonial gov'ts but those gov't at least looked out for their own..... our government, a shame that loves to use the race card and toute black people, cares about nothing but itself and votes in the next election.

Africans captured and sold other Africans to the European Slave ships.... Now the gov't of the Bahamas is attempting to capture and sell the very soul of this country to the Red Dragon.

Bahamas need real independence, not the poppy show political dramatics seen in the early 70's, and the sell-put corrupt damaging gov't we've endured since then.

Either there is a cultural revolution whereby we reclaim our respect, sovereignty, and dignity, or we might as well step aside now and let the Chinese take over the country, because if we keep layin down and letting these pagan politician speak for us there may not be anything we recognize as being Bahamaian here in the Future.

I can totally see our kids mingling round the pointe reading the Mandarin store signs eating steam rice with chopsticks

By the way.... Is only white people i see on the Pointe website..... who fool think these people interested in 'Stronger Bahamas'..... Bahamian ein even in the picture

TO THIS EXTENT, FOREIGNERS AND THEIR FOREIGN INTERESTS, as well as, their disagreements and disputes over the use of a drive-way can become the center focus for our politicians including OUR GOVERNMENT and THE OFFICIAL OPPOSITION, and can also... force attention for discussions in debate in the halls of The Bahamas' Parliament while the interest and the survival of the Bahamians, for want of a more suitable word and expression, don't seem to mean a shit to them.

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE... use your own words to describe_______...
