"He said minutes later he noticed the men took every turn he took and realised they were following him home."

So he thought it would be a good idea to go home with men following him? Hmm...

...you noticed they were following you but you still went home and proceeded to enter your house? Common sense would have told you to head to the nearest police station - I mean the police tell people this all the time!

I always thought drugs was our biggest problem in our country but I have come to the conclusion that most of our social ills stem from one thing CORRUPTION. Drugs would have never had such a major impact in our country if in the 80's corruption wasn't the order of the day for the then government. The "back door" system and "tipping" is nothing other than the fuel of corruption ,bribery plain and simple. Our legal system where files go "missing" ( a common occurrence I understand) is one of the reason so many criminals are still on our streets. Illegal immigrants don't need to use "voodoo" to evade law enforcement and land down in South Beach. All they need is a cellphone and one or two corrupt law enforcement officials to know when and where to land . Work permits being certified and issued through corrupt sponsors and government officials. Police taking bribes to make traffic tickets and God knows what other offences disappear. Politicians are the biggest purveyors of corruption. Monies what could be allocated for social programmes going to programmes to further enrich themselves and their cronies. Jobs being given for sexual favours. Teachers molesting our students and it being covered up.Now it appears this family is feeling the long rotted arm of corruption. It is time for us to make a conscious effort to stamp out corruption from every aspect of our society. Time to stop saying "well it is what it is" and start saying " it don't suppose to be like this" and take the necessary action to root out this poisonous tree called corruption which has plagued this country from the time Christopher Columbus "discovered" these isles and set foot on these shores. I would suggest the family use the social media and launch an organised techno- protest movement and do not rest until the truth has been found. And where are his fellow clergymen or this isn't glamorous enough for them to form a "Coalition". Enough is enough.

So the Panamanian Government releases a statement, with subsequent interviews to the press on the acceptance of detainees in The Bahamas without ever formally engaging the Bahamian Government?

That makes so much sense.

The Panamanian Government is participating in a public relations campaign. I also find it odd that the protesters claim that the protests were stopped in response to the government's agreement to investigate the allegations of abuse. Newsflash, the government has said on repeated occasions in any one of Fred Mitchell's ranting press releases that they would investigate. The protesters stopped protesting the minute their evil allies announced they would take them - that's all it was ever about!

Just get rid of them at this point, good riddance to all of them!

I normally never feel inclined to respond to the tribune but I must say you guys have to win the award for the most BLATANTLY biased paper in the world. FOX is a joke to you guys. If u guys could be half as balanced in your articles maybe we would have a better informed electorate. Your headline is Grossly misleading. I submit if this was Hubert Ingraham the headline would be completely different. while I am no Christie fan, its sickening to see the bias you guys display. Many times Ingraham told reporters "ine come here for dis" or "ine answerin dat" or he simply ignored them. Never did you have an article saying o, Ingraham don't have time to answer questions Bahamians want answers too. Even though I blame the PM because he is too media friendly in my view, and he makes you guys believe that he must accommodate yall every where he goes, shoots he went to make a presentation NOT to field questions from the media...so its his right to decline to be interviewed.........If you guys truly want to do the country justice....have this same approach when the other party is in power...and if you cant...atleast TRY to do a better job in covering up your bias. The media plays a great role in this country...this is suppose to be a respected paper...but as a young person I say without hesitation, you guys are slowly becoming nothing more than a tabloid for the FNM and that's sad.

They followed the law, and you clowns still complain. WTF. $300 is not enough for 1 day in this country, let alone the time she was talking about. And then the man tried to BRIBE a government official? If this was the UK or US they would have arrested him You (and I) complain all the time about them not doing their job, about lack of law and order, and when they do it, you still complain. There is SO MUCH to be pissed about in this country which affects our lives daily, but you idiots cry over things like this and some dolphins or some lifeless cay people and their problems - you are all just weak little slaves and there is nothing more to say except, complain to the people you vote for if this really bothers you so much, they make the laws. And while you are at it, why dont you go out there and help stop all the foreign sex workers from latin american countries who are being flown into this county with no money in their pockets, and who always have "someone here to support them". It must be fun living in LA LA land.

Stapedius 9 years, 9 months ago on Minnis hits out over Critical Care Block delays

Get real. Minnis is dishonest and disingenuous. Anyone who has some idea about healthcare and its administration knows a hospital is more than a building. The equipment, staff and the operational components are challenging. Especially when Cavalier construction has noted the many vexing design changes. So Minnis needs to be honest. The critical care block is not a panacea to the problems of our healthcare system. We have a poorly run system with limited resources. Bahamians didn't want to pay taxes for years but want the best in healthcare technology. We have to get real and stop the political bull$#@t. Government after government has neglected the healthcare system and these jokers behave as if this is the answer to their problems. What about the family islands with years of neglect of education, healthcare and decent safe airports? Chew on that you donkey.
