As Margaret Thatcher once said about socialism in Britain, but could just as easily be describing our socialist "party of the people" PLP's destructive fiscal policies "Sooner or later you run out of other peoples money to spend." That point has been reached, the well is dry, the bucket has a hole and the future of the middle class in the country, or whats left of it, totters on the brink. These idiots can't understand that you can't get blood from a stone or from people that are already bled white.

ispeakthetruth 9 years, 8 months ago on Smith: Suspend Abaco plan and clear backlog

Mr. Smith should keep talking. He is only hurting his credibility among non Haitian, and rational thinking, Bahamians. The immigration department should proceed with whatever plans are in place even if it adds to the backlog, and to the number of detainees at the center. We have suspended plans for decades and now that has caught up with us. But this is clearly what Mr. Smith wants as it buys him more time to build his party, and become the eventual leader of the new Haiti, his plans for the Bahamas. His request should not be considered because it is not in the best interest of the country.

Also, how does he know that the NY Times reporter was not given the time of day? Or did he make this up? Nowhere did she say her attempts at reaching the department were ignored, but miraculously she was able to reach them on a Sunday, and partially retract her article. More likely, she reached out after the fact. Also, the OAS already had their conclusions based on prior reports. Anything the government had to add would not have made any difference. All the government can do is make improvements based on what they deem vital, and affordable for our developing nation. And clearly the government was already in process of doing that, kids were not at the facility for months prior to the report. And publicly, the department disputed the pregnant woman's claims. The fact that these were still included in the report, says a lot about this organization.

Tribanon has more than issues. He has an encyclopedia of Ailments, types of depressions, feelings of inferiority, frustrations And failures that no single physician can attempt to address. This is so unfortunate.

Tribanon, how come you have not won the Lottery in Miami? You seem to know everything about everything and everyone so what are you waiting for? When you when the Lottery you can buy Nygard’s soon to be on sale property and invite your Pamper Boys and girls. Please give us a break with your daily foolishness, bitterness and stupidness. Come on man are you serious about this filth you belch on a daily basis?

Rev is a terrible product. Spanish language programming, not just commercials. 50% of the channels are crap. Used to have tennis channel, Sundance.....just keeps getting watered down and expensive. Not hard to predict the erosion of customers to streaming exclusively. If you want u. S. network channels, there are streaming options. Better make quality of channels better and don’t expect customers to pay for watered down moronic programming and/or channels.

Quick question Mr. Tribanon: what in the world did our Honorable and ethical Prime Minister do to you? I would appreciate an honest and sincere answer. I have the reason to share with our readers but I will wait for you to tell us. Thanks.

Brave have the country running around in a frenzy to register because of his careless statement.....yet he is again wrong! I waited all day to get the announcement, nothing, but no surprise. For those who want him to run the country... here is another example of a clueless clown!

The govt is not playing games. The problem is the public loves to run wild with Rumors and conspiracies without factual evidence and then they get mad when they find out that all these 'rumors' turn out to be false. I think Minnis is sensible enough to give Bahamians enough time to register etc when ever he decides to call an election. Bahamians love to panic over the stupidest things that only common sense could prevent. I know you all are anxious but please be patient. Stop letting Davis hype yall up over nonsense.

Actually, this is still being called the 2020 Olympic Games. Covid caused the one-year delay but if you look around the stadium in the games, everything is still branded "2020 Olympic Games". The next one is still scheduled for 2024 per the usual schedule. The journalist is correct.
