Muslim who stepped out of RBDF ranks during prayer wins case

Good for him. Despite Freedom of Religion being enshrined in the Constitution, it's all too often assumed that everyone in the country is Christian. It's nice to have a reminder that our population contains believer (of all religions) and non-believers alike.

The next step is to have an official separation of Church and State - the government has an obligation to represent every citizen, regardless of their religious and/or spiritual beliefs. They should never advocate one belief system over another, implicitly or explicitly.

Why ignore Cuba's welcome mat?

The Caribbean countries even though they established diplomatic relations with Cuba and there is a semblance of trade - they are in the US camp on trade with Cuba. Only when the US tells them its OK to trade with Cuba will they do so. They are shy of saying so but that’s the deal. Its liken to Haiti when it declared independence from France. The USA was the first nation to recognize Haiti ; but that’s all it did - nothing else! And so our Caribbean neighbours are afraid to trade with their historical neighbour Cuba - until master uncle Sam says so! It’s a silly policy; because Cuba is not going anywhere.
