Man just let the DNA die!!! When will this idiot realize he is only hurting our country with his nonsense!?!? We do not need the DNa and it's slate of joker candidates! We need them to fade out and go away forever. Bran you courted a known drug runner, you took advice from the most crooked immoral politician in the Bahams, you accepted a candidate for MICAL that was actually under indictment for stealing from JA. You put up the most naieve beligireant ignorant slate of candidates in the history of politics in this nation. Celi Moss? Dario Terreli? Ben Albury? Rodney Moncur? Man you have to be joking!!! You were never serious about helping our country, you raced to put candidates up just so you could hurt the FNM out of spite. You are a traitor and a joke. I never want to see you in my government again!!

Comrade Bran never did succeed at deflecting the repeated calls for him to stop contradicting himself, so how can we expect better from the statements coming out of his so-called shadow cabinet? Besides, how do you have a shadow in a small inconsequential fringe political party when you don't have one single House seat? The resources to properly fund an effective shadow cabinet is way beyond the Green's Jitney Green's bank balance. Comrade Bran the main reason you did not win your own seat, or any other of the 37 House seats up for grabs, was your own inability to formulate a main issue and sell it successfully to the natives. So, now you think you can do this by expanding the confusing by appointing a shadow cabinet? Believe me Comrade. It ain’t the way to win a single seat, much less a government. Comrade I know you got to start somewhere but are you serious about this shadow cabinet thing?

Fellow Bahamians, is it just me, or do we need more choices for our utilities? Both BEC and BTC need serious competition to become reliant. We need to fully open up the market for other service providers. Island-wide outages are unacceptable in this day and age.

We say we have infrastructure, but what infrastructure?

It should be a matter of "who is the best telephone service provider or who is the best choice for electricity?" NOT "you take what you get" WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!

Cable Bahamas, The $30 for the prime service is too high! The bundle is unappealing.
(1) Too many US networks from South Florida--ABC, NBC CBS. Let customers if they one one, two, three or none.
(2) Lifetime LMNChannels should be based on personal choice. Let customers choose. (4) Let us choose if we want USA, HDLN, FNC, CNN, ESPN, SPEED, SYFY, TRUTHTV, E!TV, MTV, VH1 Based on the above, with creativity, you can create a new basic package and reduce to price to $20. Of course, if C&W survives, your customers can switch to a more understanding and afordable provider.

Don't understand why some people allow themselves to jaded by so called men of the cloth. It's a joke to me that when these men, like Long, are accused or found guilty of actions that goes against the teachings of the great book, their "followers" find ways to justify their wrong-doings.

lakerfan242 you sound like a lonely, bitter, hideous creep who can't get a woman. If you get your rocks off by hanging around in some smelly rat hole watching skanks show what they had for breakfast, more power to you. I heard a number of the patrons spent the night in jail. Hope it was worth it. You momma must be so proud.

What's all this " his servants " being used in this report. Are they "servants" or employees...there is a big difference. If these in fact are servants, then the Government need to investigate. The last time I checked slavery was abolished.

BiminiHomeowner 12 years, 1 month ago on $24m casino unveils 'South Beach' look

How about giving the casino a "Bimini look"?

Bimini Bay is trying to "transform" Bimini into South Florida. They are not making Bimini a "distinctive destination," they are making this island seem generic, with the same cliche amenities that every other "luxury" resort has.

They see this island as nothing but real estate to sell and profit off of, and the Bahamian press continues to run free advertising for them over and over.

They used to claim 200 jobs with the casino, then it was 160, now it's 130.

The Tribune needs to stop running ads for Bimini Bay, and start reporting on the realities of that resort. Biminites are not being represented by the press, or our elected officials in Nassau.

Nothing surprises me these days. Clearly these pastors have a right to their private personal opinions, but if they are going to make those opinions public then at least they should try to ensure that those opinions are credible. In that vein, I am deeply disapponted in these pastors. Based on their logic noted above, we may as well include prostitution, narcotics and thiefing in this opinion poll to be regulated as well because like gambling these vices have also been apart of the Bahamian culture for a long time. In that way, the entire Bahamian community can benefit from the taxation of these activities not just a selected few. You fellas can't be serious.

That church really is starting to bother me, don't they have a head of the church? Should he or she not step in and say hey go take care of your flock and stay the hell out of politics?

Just the fact that he was appointed by the crooked, lying, tiefin PLP tells me this man has no honor and is as crooked as they are. Priest robes or not.

Don't know you too well Rev Moultrie, but I would like to warn you about the dangerous political game at play. I do believe that they are using your church robes to pass off any other dealings as honest and above board. Be careful as your church will also be called into question if anything else goes down, and I assure you will go wrong.

Best of luck!

Personally, I do believe that positions such as these and ministerial jobs should go to people with professional backgrounds in that field. Perhaps it will be a routine of the future.

And while collecting property taxes, stop allowing your family, friends and lovers to bring in whatever they purchase overseas duty free. Collect traffic fines and stop wasting the court's time. Park the government cars on holidays and weekends. Collect business licence fees or close those businesses down. Make your auntie in the straw market pay her rent. Stop wasting the people's money. There is too much slackness in this country. And by the way Mr. Prime Minister, stop trying to influence what happens on Monday. No horse in the race my foot.

proudloudandfnm 11 years, 10 months ago on Christie: 'No' vote will lead to more taxes

Why is our PM so dishonest? It took me almost three years to get my property tax bill. Here's my suggestion Mr. PM. Clean up the taxes we have now, get them paid in time and in full. Then after accomplishing that we can talk about new taxes. But until then we have no idea what revenues add up to and what we need to do to bolster them.

And the webshops claim to make 100 million per year. A Bahamian business license is based on revenues. So why are they not already paying 5 million a year for their business license? Get them up to date and paying properly, get us our money then let's talk about new taxes.
