The taxman deserves every bit of bullying. He or she is a fiscal parasitic lackey secure in his or her government job living at the expense of every tax paying Bahamian. Constipated petty bureaucrats are the lowest form of social life, right alongside corrupt politicians and predatory pastors.

He says ""We are going to have to look at that to ensure we don't cause significant shocks to..."

Sir, you don't have to "look at" anything. You ARE the Min of Fin. You can make a regulation that no property tax bill be more than double what it was the previous year. Then it would take 3 years to reach 8-fold instead of immediate. That would give "the people" (who's "time" it supposedly is) time to catch up instead of the valuation system being given time.

Which is more important? People? or Valuation System?

You have the power to decide.

Tobacco is already 220%, plus VAT. Putting a higher tax on liquor and tobacco will surely encourage smuggling and robbery and we have enough of that as it is. Countries with an extraordinarily high "sin" tax on tobacco and alcohol always see marked increases in related smuggling and theft, the perpetrators almost always armed.

If the government does not obey their own laws why should any other Bahamian obey them? This government wonders why we have a crime problem, if they would look in the mirror they will see the main cause of our lawless society, themselves. The government is direct the cause of the breakdown of the rule of law in this country. This is what you get when you have a government that is corrupt, immoral, unethical, and biased. Wake up Bahamas, you have a government that is destroying your country from the inside. Your children will ask you one day why you allowed them to do so.

....The only way to achieved the change we seek is to demand it!.....

Government has finally pushed Bahamians beyond docile cowardice. We have to loudly agitate for the change we want and relentlessly demonstrate against government to show them and the world we will no longer stand for their piracy!

Martin Luther King - “One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws”

http://zeninthecar.com/civil-disobedien…

Slavery, equal rights, racial equality, police brutality, and gay rights were only overcome by peoples civil disobedience.

Majority rule was won by demonstrating! It is time to shut the country down again!

Bahamians must rise up or be destroyed by a handful of blatantly corrupt pirates!

If they need someone to Serve the Prime Minister and V. Alfred Gray just let me know. I will be happy to do that as they cross Bay Street to go into the House.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Monkee ... I'm not afraid of Perry Christie and his goons, I'd be pleased to serve the papers, no charge, as a public service.

the PM is always in Olives, Cable Beach - try serving him there. This article thrills me and I'm glad there is an attorney out there who is not afraid to do his job. Watching with interest....

Thank you Mr. Smith for holding our useless government to account! Jail them if they do not follow the law! They are criminals if they don't and they have done so many other criminal things to this country already.

The only people acting to the detriment of this country are Mr. Munroe and his moronic and sophmoric PLP government, who are all slaves to the Chinese and traitors to the sovereignty of the Bahamas.

Maybe Munroe QC can give the PM a speech about Sovereignty? Maybe with Mitchell as his wing man? If the courts will work as well as the did favoring the Chinese in the first place, the Courts should be able to favor the Government over throwing out the Chinese.. no? May if the AG Family gets another store?

The entire PLP is a criminal organization. Look no further than that party if you want to know where the heart of all crime in the Bahamas beats loudest.

Well, if the RBPF can go after Bahamians for a "cheesy" fence, without a complainant, they should go after Nygard and Brave
