After surgery, Serena Brown expects to make impact with Hawkeyes in Big 10
SHE has been out of action for the past year, recuperating from surgery to repair her rotator cuff. But now Serena Brown has settled in at the University of Iowa where she expects to make an impact in the Big 10 Conference for the Hawkeyes, making the switch from the Texas A&M Aggies and the Southeastern Conference.

COLLEGIANS Sydney Clarke and Elana Mackey, the top seeded players, led the charge for the ladies during day one of the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association’s Giorgio Baldacci Open Nationals at the National Tennis Centre yesterday. Top seed Clarke, a senior at the University of Arlington at Birmingham, pulled of a hard fought 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win over Simone Pratt, while Mackey, the No.2 seed, easily secured a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Saphirre Ferguson.

It was a great weekend for Bahamian Ana Camille ‘Millie’ Vlasov and her horse, Beaumont, at the Jumping du Golfe St Tropez Hubside 1* Equestrian competition in St Tropez, France. Vlasov, the lone Bahamian in action, competed in three classes against competitors from France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Chile, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Brazil, Ireland, Israel, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden and the United Kingdom and was successful, winning all three of her races.
