Last month, Sir Ronald Sanders, Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the United States, sought support in a speech before a meeting of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) in Geneva, Switzerland. He lamented his country is “losing all hope” that its 15-year-long trade dispute with the United States will be amicably settled through private, bilateral negotiations. Sanders is, furthermore, considering asking the WTO’s head to mediate a solution.

THE Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association congratulates Jacobi Bain and Elana Mackey, who have been invited by the International Tennis Federation to participate in a Regional Under-13 Training Camp for the top players in the region. The training camp began yesterday and will end Sunday in La Libertad, El Salvador.

THE top scorer in City Bowling League competition last night was Sonith Lockhart of Carib Construction who downed the pins for a huge 667 high three game set. Runner-up MVP was Lee Davis of Ten Back Strikers with another big set of 650. Yule Hoyte of Ten Back Strikers had an impressive 256 high game with Ritchie Pyfrom dropping the pins for a 245 second high game.

I DON’T know what action will be sufficient to roll back both the Islamic State militant group and Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, but I do know what’s necessary. And it’s not “leading from behind”, which didn’t really work for President Barack Obama in Libya, and it isn’t simply leading a lonely and unpopular charge from in front, which certainly didn’t work for President George W Bush in Iraq.
