The Earth will abide
To Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis, climate change and global warming are both massive issues worth addressing. True to his word to the Bahamian people, Davis addressed this issue at the recent CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in Belize, although I cannot recall climate change being front and centre in the Progressive Liberal Party’s (PLP) campaign platform in 2021. In fact, I cannot say if the subject was addressed at all on the campaign trail.

It wasn’t so much the windy conditions as it was her putting that made it difficult for Bahamian exemption player Georgette Rolle to improve on her performance as she ended up at the bottom of the 108-player field at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classi
A different take on democracy
It is the Christmas season and my favourite time – new year– is approaching. It is a time of reflection and improvement. Some improve their home by repairs, painting and decorations. Some improve themselves by being generous and making new year resolutions. In this vein I suggest an improvement for the Bahamas’ political system which is a representative democracy.

A Nassau cruise port bidder yesterday pledged that the “majority” of its $250m investment will be spent outside Prince George Wharf to help bring Bay Street “back to life”.
