I understand the journalist's response to the video on an intellectual level, (I am a lawyer by profession and a firm believer in woman power). However, I ask with an open heart that the writer submit to God's word and not lean to her own understanding. Don't over intellectualize Dr. Munroe's sermon. Certainly, an abusive relationship where a man wants to control or subjergate his mate is a horrible thing and no one is suggesting, (and I don't belive even the journalist believes that Dr. Munroe suggests) that this is the type of relationship that is desired or healthy. What I and the other women who find inspiration form Dr. Munroe's sermon relate to is the order that he speaks of. Perhaps, we as black people have witnessed so much disorder in our personal relationships since captivity and enslavement that we no longer recognize or even understand what an "ordered" relationship is. Woman does not lose power or her self identity by having a relationship with a man who submits and understands his ordered place under God. If that man submits as God has called him to do, he would not be the abusive man of which this writer speaks. There is really so much more to say, but not enough time or type-space. I simply share this with you- If you believe in God, then you must belive that he can create a man just for you who can do all the things that Dr. Munroe speaks of without being abusive or oppressive. I will pray for the writers continued growth in God's word.
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
