This entire situation is so typically Bahamian. For the FIRST TIME in Bahamian History, The Country of The Bahamas has a world class road installation that all Bahamians can be proud. For once, there is a road that was built with the proper sub-grade conditions, proper grading allowing the roads to drain properly, and hold on for this! NO POTHOLES! Not only is this a benefit for the citizens of New Paradise Island, it leaves a much better lasting impression for the only real viable source of income for this otherwise lazy and unproductive population, tourists. What I find truly remarkable is that the Izmirlian family keeps getting kicked in the chins for trying to make things better and are criticized for everything they do for the country. Bahamians need to stop whining, pay their bills and start treating tourists and people willing to invest in their country with respect. You better be prepared for the time when Cuba (AND IT WILL HAPPEN) normalizes it relationship with the United States. I have been there. The country is beautiful and the people open welcoming arms to visitors. Unlike the Bahamians, they have wonderful food and service and welcome anyone willing to invest in their economy. With your income gone......Bahamians will be the new "boat people" Shut up and pay the Izmirlians their money!
