Police hunting suspects after shooting victim rushed to hospital

FREEPORT - Grand Bahama Police are investigating a shooting in the Freeport area that left a 24-year-old man in hospital.

Officers were called to Watkins Lane just before 11pm on Monday and found the victim, who had been shot in the torso. He was rushed to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was still being treated last night.

ASP Loretta Mackey asked anyone with information concerning the incident to call the Central Detective Unit on 350-3107/8, 352-9774/5 or 911.

In other crime news, three men were detained by police for questioning after the discovery of a firearm and ammunition.

The find was made by a team of Drug Enforcement Unit officers who executed a search warrant on Wednesday at a home in Lincoln Green off East Sunrise Highway.
