The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) yesterday said it has given its pre-paid cellular customers value-added gifts for Christmas.
Customers will get 10 free minutes of chat automatically after five paid minutes. And, after 10 text messages are sent, BTC clients will get the next 10 free, with data users getting a free top-up.
Jerome Sawyer, BTC’s spokesman, said: “This is the first promotion in a series of mobile telephone offers that seeks to add additional value and goodwill to our pre-paid mobile package.”
Cellular customers calling other BTC cell phones can extend a five-minute call by 10 free minutes, and also get 10 free SMS text
messages in each 24-hour period after sending 10 paid messages.
Data users who purchase and activate a seven or 30-day data plan will get an additional two or 10 days free, respectively.
Mr Sawyer added: “We are showing our prepaid customers some early Christmas love and the feedback is very encouraging.
“As of December 2, just one week into the start of this programme, we’ve given away 2,912,544 free text messages and 592,778 free minutes.
“And our data users racked up 51,170 free days.
“We expect an uptake in this trend as Christmas draws closer.”
