A 33-year-old man is detained in hospital following a shooting incident in the Eight Mile Rock area, police reported. The victim was among a group of men playing dominoes around 10.30pm on Thursday in the Pinedale area when two masked armed men opened fire on them.
The culprits were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. Inspector Terecita Pinder said the victim, a resident of Pinedale, was taken by EMS personnel to the Rand Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is listed stable condition.
No arrest has been made in the matter.
