Three women held after stabbing incident

THREE women, aged 25, 19 and 17, are in police custody after allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old woman during a fight on Saturday.

It happened shortly before 3am.

Police say the victim was at East Street and Andros Avenue when she was stabbed in the back and arm during an altercation with three women.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance where she is listed in serious but stable condition.

Mobile Division officers later arrested the three suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

In other crime news, police seized four firearms and several hundred rounds of ammunition during an operation on Friday.

According to reports, a team of officers from the Southwestern Division, acting on intelligence, went to a park in Flamingo Gardens, where they searched a back pack and found two handguns, two rifles and over 700 live rounds of ammunition.

No one was arrested in connection to the seizure and investigations are ongoing.

Police also recovered a handgun in bushes off Nassau Village on Friday.

According to reports, shortly after 2pm, Mobile Division officers, acting on intelligence, went to Matthew Street where they recovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.

No arrests were made in connection with this incident.

Investigations into all these matters are continuing.
