ARIANNA Vanderpool-Wallace reached two finals but finished out of the medals at the weekend as the World Swimming Championships came to a close in Kazan, Russia.
The Bahamian finished sixth in the women's 50m freestyle on Sunday, having finished seventh in the 50m butterfly the previous day.
In the sprint freestyle final, Vanderpool-Wallace swum 24.44 sec to finish behind the medal winners Bronte Campbell, of Australia (24.12), Ranomi Kromowidjojo, of the Netherlands (24.12), and Sarah Sjostrom, of Sweden (24.31).
Sjostrom was a clear winner of the 50m butterfly gold in 24.96sec from Jeanette Ottesen, of Denmark, in 25.34 and Lu Ying, of China, in 25.37. Vanderpool-Wallace finished in 25.93.
