ERNESTO Soberon Guzman, Cuba’s Ambassador to The Bahamas, spoke yesterday of the bilateral relationship between the countries, highlighting that the neighbours faced the same challenges, including trafficking in people and drugs.

He told the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Southeast Nassau at the East Villa restaurant, East Bay Street, that he would encourage US visitors to travel to The Bahamas, Cuba and the Domninican Republic now that relations between his country and the United States were more open.

He hoped to see more bilateral trade between Cuba and The Bahamas and more foreign investment arising from the passing of a new law last year in Cuba.
