Four in custody after Grand Bahama murder

FOUR men are assisting police with their investigations into Grand Bahama’s second homicide for 2015 which occurred at Bass Lane, a senior police officer said.

Acting Assistant Superintendent Advardo Dames said police have four men in custody who are assisting them in the shooting death of 38-year-old Sharvago Anthony Thompson, of Heritage Subdivision.

According to reports, sometime around 7:20pm on Monday, January 19, police received a report of gunshots in the Bass Lane area. On arrival at the scene, police discovered the lifeless body of a man on the ground with multiple gunshot injuries.

Initial reports are that Thompson was standing in a yard when he was approached by a man wearing dark clothing who pulled out a gun and shot him several times in the body. The gunman fled the scene on foot.

Thompson died at the scene.

Mr Dames said investigations are continuing into the matter.
