A MAN was yesterday arraigned in Magistrate’s Court accused of murdering another man after a late-night argument three weeks ago.
Demetrius Forbes, 23, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes in connection with the July 12 murder of Omar Stirrup at a restaurant and bar in the Claridge Road area.
According to police reports, shortly after 1.30am, Stirrup was at a restaurant and bar at Karl Road off Claridge Road when he became involved in an altercation with another man that resulted in him being shot multiple times in his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forbes was not required to enter a plea yesterday and the matter was adjourned to October 16 for the service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
Forbes was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.
