A MAN and a woman were taken into police custody late on Wednesday night following a shooting incident that left a family of five in hospital, including two young children - one of whom was shot in the back of the head.

The shooting took place around 10.30pm off Wulff Road. Police say a group of people was standing outside a home on Key West Street when a man with a handgun fired several shots at them before fleeing on foot.

Two adult males, an adult female, a four-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy received injuries and were taken to hospital.

The young girl, Mykia Major was shot in the back of the head and is in critical condition, although a relative said she is speaking. The boy, Zhivargo Major, was shot in the foot and was discharged from hospital yesterday.

The other injuries are described as not serious.

A short while later, Flying Squad officers arrested an adult man and woman in connection with this incident.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Stephen Dean, said police believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier domestic argument.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime stoppers anonymously at 328-tips.

Police are also asking for the public’s help in solving three armed robberies.

In the first incident, shortly before 8am on Wednesday, police say a man was standing outside his home at Buttonwood Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, when a man with a handgun approached and robbed him of a large amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Shortly after 1pm on Wednesday, a man was about to make a deposit outside a bank on Carmichael and Baillou Hill Roads, when a man with a handgun approached and robbed him of a deposit bag containing a large amount of cash before fleeing in a silver coloured Honda vehicle.

In the last incident, shortly after 2am yesterday, police say a man had just arrived at his home at Mermaid Boulevard off Carmichael Road in his gold 2005 Nissan Primera (license 278040) when two men with handguns approached and robbed him of his vehicle before speeding off.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact police immediately.

These are the final days -- not the final days of the coming of a suppose saviour, but rather the final days of the Bahamas as we know it.

Our slide into anarchy and oblivion as civilised nation started with independence and thanks to another PLP government, the handcart to Hell has been given a huge push.

What is it going to take for Bahamians to stand up and say enough is enough? Surely as a people we have had enough of the senseless slaughter, corruption, illegal web shop operators, politicians lining their pockets at the public's expense, a leader who is so unfit to lead, a government that does not care one cent for any of us? How much further do we have to slide?

Hang them in Parliament Square. Hang them Monday, as it would be a good way to celebrate Independence Day -- our independence from violent, godless, sadistic criminals.
