The Pointe... Can the Prime Minister please advise us how many Chinese construction workers have been permitted to work on The Pointe?
I purposely inspected their site from the sidewalk and tried hard to see a brown or dark brown face... Editor couldn’t find any except the Security Guards.
Surely it is time for the Heads of Agreement to be tabled and let’s pray what we were told... on this project the majority of construction workers will be Bahamian is true. We need a statement from the Minister of Immigration and Minister of labour.
Where is Dr Minnis? Where is the Construction Workers Union people?
There should only be Supervisors and key Management people been given immigration work permits.
This is a seven-storey poured concrete building – Bahamians been doing them for years.

Isn't it the law that when employing a person for a position, a Bahamian MUST be employed first, and an Expat only in the circumstances that there are no qualified Bahamians available.
.... You cannot tell me that none of our young unemployed persons are not qualified to do construction work.
Infact i would dare to say the Chinees dem probably is not qualified, based on the disregarded building codes round BahaMar side.

Dear Colleagues,
I support the viewpoint that expatriates should be appointed only if there are no Bahamians to take up positions to undertake the project construction work of The Pointe, Expatriates will only be appointed as peers and subordinates reporting to the Project Manager and / or the Site In Charge. .
