A MAJOR executive post in the Bahamas Football Association is now vacant after the resignation of its techincal director.

After fulfilling one year of his two-year term, Kevin McGreskin submitted the letter of resignation yesterday. Both McGreskin and BFA president Anton Sealey confirmed, but reasons for the resignation remain unclear.

McGreskin was appointed by the BFA in February 2015 to spearhead the national development programme. His resignation comes at a time when disputes between several clubs and BFA administration continue.

According to the BFA at the time of the hire, he was contracted to build on the established, solid foundation of youth football development by focusing more on coaching, women’s and grassroots development.

McGreskin, 43, is a UEFA A licence qualified coach with the English, Irish and Welsh Football Associations. He is the founder of Dynamic Sports Vision (now Soccer eyeQ), a respective specialist coaching consultancy that focuses on the development of cognitive skills such as awareness, concentration and decision making. Through the consultancy, he has worked closely with professional clubs, youth teams and national governing bodies to provide coach education and player development programmes. He also worked as a consultant coach with Scottish clubs Partick Thistle and Dundee United between 2011 and 2013 and had a spell as head coach and technical director to the Kiribati national team in 2013. His playing career was cut short at 22 by injury.

McGreskin followed Trevor Rolle, the first Bahamian to fill the position, who served from 2013-2015.
