Two arrested over murder of man found wounded in street

POLICE arrested a man and a woman yesterday morning in connection with the beating death of a man over the weekend.

According to officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, the victim was involved in an argument late Saturday night that led to him being hit in the head with a blunt object.

According to police, the victim was found on Wulff Road shortly after midnight suffering from a wound. He was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The Tribune understands the victim is Edwardo Burrows.

This incident pushed the country’s murder count for the year to 19, according to The Tribune’s records.

Chief Supt Rolle said two people were taken into custody on Monday and are assisting police with their investigations. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
