NICK Strachan is establishing himself as one to watch for the high school basketball recruiting class for the class of 2020.

Strachan completed a standout season as a freshman playing on the varsity squad at Godby High School Cougars in Tallahassee, Florida, and recently drew the attention of coaches and recruits for his performance at the Leonard Hamilton Basketball Camp.

Strachan posted 25 points in the camp finale.

Despite his status as a freshman, Strachan competed on the varsity team that advanced all the way to the Regional Semi-finals in the Class 6A Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship Tournament.

The Cougars finished the season at 27-12 and Strachan's best performance was against Lincoln with eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

With a team dominated by senior leadership this season, the 6'4" wing will be expected to take on a larger role next season as a sophomore.

Strachan played locally at Kingsway Academy before making the transition to the United States.

He is the son of Stingers Youth Basketball Association director Stephen Strachan and the brother of current Middle Tennessee State University senior guard Stephen Strachan Junior.

Hamilton and the Florida State Seminoles host the team camps annually each summer featuring the top prospects in the state of Florida.

The most successful coach in Florida State history, Leonard Hamilton is the Seminoles' all-time winningest coach and is the eighth winningest coach in ACC history.

Under Hamilton, the Seminoles have won at least 20 games in 10 of his 15 years and have advanced to the postseason in 11 of his 15 seasons at Florida State University.
