Resurrection Sunday in Exuma

By Vanessa Smith

Rev Stephen Smith, along with his wife Krivoy Smith and the Ebenezer Family in Farmer's Hill, Exuma, came together to commemorate and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ last Easter weekend.

He told the congregation that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith.

"We serve a risen Saviour and because He lives we can be over-comers in this life. Despite the trials, the challenges and sometimes hard times, we should not worry but have faith in the true and living God.

We in the Bahamas are blessed with natural beauty and resources. People visit from all over the world to experience our culture and enjoy the friendliness of our people. Jesus is alive and He overcame the tomb, the cross and death and through Him we can live an abundant life today," he said.

Some of the special guests during the Easter service were Fred and Lynn Hicks of the United States, Don and Sophia Rolle of Staniel Cay, Christine and Patrice Rolle, Sisters Evans and Lisa Smith of Kemp Road Ministries, psalmist Al Gibson and his wife Samantha, the Strachan family, and Leroy and Elaine Franklyn from Trinidad.
