Wilkenson “Kenny” Isnord continues to boost his recruitment stock this offseason and is now headed to an elite prep school programme this fall.

Isnord will join the Putnam Science Academy Mustangs in Putnam, Connecticut for the 2018-19 season.

The Mustangs come off a season where they captured the National Prep Basketball Championship with a 74-66 overtime win over Northfield Mount Hermon last March.

It was the first national title for the Mustangs, who reached the national semifinals in 2016 and 2017.

Offers

Isnord continues to receive high major offers from Division I programmes, following his standout summer on the AAU circuit with Showtime Ballers.

His summer recruitment continues to accelerate and the VCU Rams became the second team out of the A10 Conference to make an official offer.

The 6’8” forward received his first high major Division I offer last month from the Virginia Tech Hokies of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Scouts and pundits at the event have raved about Isnord’s athletic ability impacting both ends of the floor.

He has previously fielded Division I offers from Boston College, the University of Buffalo, St. Bonaventure, Florida Gulf Coast University, James Madison and Appalachian State University.

Isnord reclassified to the 2019 class in June and joined the Showtime Ballers AAU team for the current live recruitment period after playing alongside fellow Bahamian Kai Jones on Team Breakdown.

Isnord spent the last academic year with the Blanche Tigers in Pompano Beach, Florida.

He was also named All-Broward Third Team for Boys’ 9A-7A Schools by the Sun Sentinel, and through 30 games he averaged 6.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game as the Tigers claimed the Class 8A state title.

Prior to his time at Blanche Ely, he played for J.P. Taravella High School and joined the stacked Florida Vipers Under-16 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team on the Under Armor Circuit.

Last summer, Isnord rose up the Florida high school prospect rankings over the summer with an impressive start to his junior season began to field NCAA Division I offers.

Monster

“I plan to be a monster on both offence and defence next year, especially when it comes to rebounding,” he told Jake Perper of prephoops.com. “I want to do damage in the paint and around the arc. I want to make my presence felt on the court at all times. My goals are to help my school go undefeated again and to hopefully win another state championship and go to nationals. I’m looking forward to working on my handles a bit more and getting a better feel for the ball, also to improve my mid-range and outside jump shot. I also want to make smarter decisions with the basketball, so I would say improving my basketball IQ is going to be crucial for me this season.”
