AN ANDROS man, accused of harming two men at a bar on the island last month, has been denied bail ahead of his trial.
Arthur Kemp was accused of harming Greg Roberts on October 20 at a bar in Staniel Creek. The prosecution alleged that the accused also caused grievous harm to another man around 1.30 that morning.
He denied both allegations during a hearing before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt and the case was transferred to the circuit magistrate to be heard in Andros.
In the meantime, Kemp was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional services.
He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
• A 27-year-old man has been remanded to prison charged with threatening to kill a police officer last week.
Police said Charles Gaitor Jr issued death threats to Inspector Jamal Adderley on November 14.
The prosecution alleged that the accused also behaved in a disorderly manner, resisting Inspector Adderley’s lawful arrest.
He denied and the allegations and the matter was adjourned to February 24 for trial.
In the meantime, Mr Gaitor was denied bail and remanded into custody.
He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
