A 34-year-old man was charged with murder yesterday, days after a man’s body was found wrapped in sheet in the area of Bacardi Road.

Charles St Luc also known as “Elmo” appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt charged with the death of Patrick Rolle Jr on September 5.

According to initial police reports, shortly after 8 o’clock that night, a concerned citizen informed officers that a homicide may have occurred on Blyden Road, near Bacardi Road. Acting on this information, officers proceeded to a track road off Bacardi Road, shortly after midnight on September 6, where they discovered the body of an adult male wrapped in a blue sheet.

Police said Emergency Medical Services were contacted and pronounced the victim dead after examining the lifeless body.

During the hearing, St Luc was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to December 8 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

He was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.

St Luc, who is represented by attorney Tonique Lewis, has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
