A MAN was accused of a fatal shooting at a West Bay Street restaurant that left one man dead and another seriously injured earlier this month.
Prosecutors allege Devontae Ferguson, 19, and an accomplice stormed Nesbitt’s Restaurant and shot Dexter Kerr Jr and Delano Braynen at 1pm on August 3.
The masked suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white Japanese vehicle.
Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment, but Kerr succumbed to his multiple gunshot injuries.
Braynen was treated for gunshot injuries to his left shoulder and arm.
Ferguson was not required to enter a plea to charges of murder and attempted murder before acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans.
The accused was informed that the matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
Ferguson was also informed of his right to apply for bail through the Supreme Court.
He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until the service of his VBI on January 28, 2027.
Corporal Moultrie prosecuted the case. Alphonso Lewis represented Ferguson.
