A MAN was accused of having a loaded gun in New Providence last week.

Prosecutors allege Joshua Newry, 28, had a black Glock 27 .40 pistol and 23 .40 rounds of ammunition on August 19.

Newry pleaded not guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

Sergeant 3004 Forbes raised no objection to bail but asked that conditions be imposed.

Newry’s bail was set at $8,000 with one or two sureties.

Under the terms of his bail, he must sign in at Quakoo Street Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 7pm.

His trial is scheduled to begin on November 9.
