A MAN accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl twice in New Providence this year was remanded to prison yesterday.
Prosecutors allege Jamal Naissance, 24, had unlawful sexual intercourse with the underaged girl sometime between May 27 and 29.
The accused allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with the same girl again on June 25.
Naissance was not required to enter a plea to two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse when he appeared before Magistrate Abigail Farrington.
He was told his matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment.
Naissance was also informed of his right to apply for bail in the higher court.
He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until service of his VBI on October 8.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Kendrick Bauld prosecuted the case, while Alphonso Lewis represented the accused.
