A MAN was fined $1,500 after admitting he had a forged driver’s licence earlier this week.

Leonardo Wright, 42, was found with the forged ID in New Providence on June 8.

Wright pleaded guilty to possession of a forged document before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly Burrows.

The defendant told the magistrate he bought the ID from someone at Road Traffic a few years ago and thought the person was authorised to sell it.

He asked the court for mercy.

Wright was fined $1,500 or faces five months in prison.

Sergeant Vernon Pyfrom prosecuted the case.
