Four years for firearm parts

A MAN who admitted having five firearm components and ammunition at his Pastel Gardens home last week was sentenced to four years in prison yesterday.

Orey Paul was found with a black firearm frame, black magazine, black barrel, black firearm slide, recoil spring and two 9mm rounds after he and his residence were searched at 1am on June 25.

Paul pleaded guilty to five counts of possession of a component part of a firearm and one count of possession of ammunition before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

He was sentenced to 48 months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

The firearm components were ordered destroyed.

Sergeant 3004 Forbes prosecuted the case.
