Man granted $10,000 bail after Potter’s Cay marijuana seizure

A MAN accused of having $6,000 worth of marijuana was granted $10,000 bail yesterday.

Prosecutors allege that Leeland Curling, 64, conspired to possess and possessed three pounds of hydroponic marijuana on May 14.

Police, with the assistance of K-9 units, reportedly found the drugs in a Blanco box among freight destined for Exuma at Potter’s Cay Dock around 10.20am.

Curling pleaded not guilty to possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply and conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply before Senior Magistrate Raquel Whyms.

His bail was set at $10,000 with one or more sureties. Under the terms of his bail, he must sign in at the Elizabeth Estates Police Station every Monday through Friday by 6pm.

Curling’s trial begins on July 20.

Sergeant 2257 Wilkinson prosecuted the case.
