A MAN accused of stealing a car in New Providence was yesterday denied bail.
Prosecutors allege Kervin Pierre-Louis, 23, with accomplices, stole a white 2014 Nissan Serena belonging to Moise Phillippes on September 28. The stolen vehicle is valued at $5,000.
Pierre-Louis pleaded not guilty to stealing and receiving before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.
Inspector 3004 Sherquell Forbes, the prosecutor, objected to the accused's bail, citing that he had a prior car theft charge from 2024. Although the accused was denied bail, he was informed of his right to reapply for bail through the Supreme Court.
Pierre-Louis was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until he returns to court on March 2, 2027.
