A MAN was accused of the indecent assault of a nine-year-old girl in New Providence last month.

Prosecutors allege Deon Johnson, 21, inappropriately groped a young girl's privates on October 31.

Johnson pleaded not guilty to indecent assault before acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans.

The defendant was granted bail at $3,000 with one or two sureties.

Under the terms of Johnson's bail he is to obey a 10pm to 6am curfew, sign in at the Nassau Street Police Station every Monday by 8pm and be fitted with a monitoring device.

He was also warned to stay away from the complainant and to not interfere with any witnesses.

Failure to comply with any of these conditions would result in his bail being revoked.

Johnson returns for trial on February 1, 2027.
