A 30-YEAR-OLD man ran into a business on Carmichael Road to try to escape police before officers caught him inside and arrested him in connection with a stolen vehicle on Friday.
Detectives are now questioning him about several vehicle thefts.
Police said officers acting on a tip went to the Carmichael Road and Allen Drive area shortly after noon, where a man got out of a silver vehicle and fled into a nearby business. Officers chased him and arrested him inside.
When officers examined the vehicle, they found several discrepancies in its registration and licence plate details, which they suspect are fraudulent.
The arrest was part of a joint operation by officers from the South Western Division at the Carmichael Road Police Station and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Stolen Vehicle Section.
