Fowlco Maritime & Project Services (FMPS) yesterday announced it will serve as the Freeport operations partner for ShipX, the shipping and freight forwarding company.

FowlCo, a member of the Heroic Group, said in a statement that the agreement combines ShipX’s shipping services with its own local maritime and logistics capabilities to support cargo moving into Grand Bahama.

It added that the tie-up creates shipping options for individuals and businesses importing vehicles, palletised goods, oversized cargo and machinery. The duo’s agreement aims to simplify the shipping experience, strengthen local co-ordination and support the needs of retailers, contractors, entrepreneurs and residents.

“This agreement reflects our commitment to building practical partnerships that create opportunities for Grand Bahama,” said Glennett Fowler, president and founder of Heroic Group.

“Local businesses have the experience, infrastructure and knowledge to play a meaningful role in this island’s growth. By combining our capabilities with ShipX, we are expanding our service offering and helping customers access the shipping and operational support they need.”

The service offering includes shipping for compact cars, SUVs (sports utility vehicles) and trucks, alongside palletised freight and larger equipment. Customers can request price quotations based on their cargo specifications and shipping requirements.

Fowlco said the agreement represents a further step in developing its maritime and logistics business through partnerships, local expertise and responsive customer service.

“Our focus is on turning opportunity into reliable service,” Ms Fowler added. “We want to help businesses move their goods, support projects on the ground and make shipping more accessible for the people who live and invest here.”
