A MAN was accused yesterday of stealing a motorcycle at gunpoint in New Providence last month.
Prosecutors allege Markintino Cayard, 24, and an accomplice, while armed with a handgun, robbed Stephen Adderley of his white 2026 Yamaha XTZ on August 18.
The motorcycle was valued at $2,995.
Cayard was not required to enter pleas to charges of armed robbery, receiving and conspiracy to commit armed robbery before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.
His co-accused, Isley Jean, 18, was arraigned on the same charges last week.
Cayard was informed that the matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI). He was also informed of his right to apply for bail through the Supreme Court. Cayard was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until service of his VBI on November 26. Corporal Moultrie prosecuted the case.
