A FATHER and son were remanded to prison on Friday after police allegedly found a pistol, 124 rounds of ammunition and seven ounces of cocaine in the backyard of their Spruce Street home, while two other accused, including a 16-year-old girl, were granted bail.
Quentin Rolle Jr, 26, Quentin Rolle Sr, 51, Jacqueline Rolle, 49, and the teenage girl, whose name is being withheld because she is a minor, are accused of possessing the firearm, ammunition, firearm components and drugs on September 15.
Prosecutors allege police went to the home at about 9pm and a male suspect tried to flee through a rear door before being caught after a brief pursuit.
During a search of the backyard, police allegedly found a black Walther PPQ pistol, 50 .40-calibre rounds, 42 .380-calibre rounds and 32 9mm rounds.
They also allegedly recovered a black 12-round magazine, a black 13-round Glock magazine, a black 15-round Glock magazine and seven ounces of cocaine.
All four defendants pleaded not guilty before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr to possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply, three counts of possession of ammunition with intent to supply and three counts of possession of a component part of a firearm.
Rolle Jr and Rolle Sr were denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
The teenager was granted $5,000 bail with one or two sureties, while Mrs Rolle was granted $7,000 bail with one or two sureties.
The teenager must sign in at the East Street South Police Station every Monday by 7pm.
Mrs Rolle must report to the same station every Monday and Friday by 7pm.
The defendants are due to return to court on October 22, when a bail hearing for the two men is scheduled.
