A 61-year-old woman was accused of posting a nude video of another woman in a WhatsApp group chat in an attempt to defame her earlier this year.
Prosecutors allege Rochelle Forbes posted the video in a WhatsApp group called “Political Gab” on May 9 to expose the complainant to general hatred and ridicule.
Forbes pleaded not guilty to intentional libel before Deputy Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
Inspector Cordero Farrington, the prosecutor, did not object to bail.
Bail was set at $1,500 with one or two sureties. Under the terms of her bail, Forbes must sign in at the Carmichael Road Police Station every Monday by 7pm.
She was warned not to interfere with the complainant or any witnesses in the matter or risk having her bail revoked.
Forbes returns for trial on January 16.
