A 27-year-old man was remanded to prison yesterday after being accused of stealing $1,000 from a woman at gunpoint and defrauding her of the same amount last December.
Tomaz McIntosh was not required to enter a plea to charges of armed robbery and fraud by false pretences when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
Prosecutors allege McIntosh, while armed with a black handgun, robbed Deamia Bowe of $1,000 on December 4, 2025.
He is also accused of defrauding Ms Bowe of the same amount that day.
McIntosh was told that the case would proceed to the Supreme Court by voluntary bill of indictment and that he could apply to the higher court for bail.
He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until March 9, 2027, when the voluntary bill of indictment is due to be served.
Levan Johnson represented McIntosh, while Inspector Cordero Farrington prosecuted the case.
